Ancient Egyptian inspired drop earrings, with colourful turquoise, carnelian and gold effect beads.

I have named these earrings after my favourite Pharaoh - Hatshepsut. She successfully ruled for over 20 years and led many military and trading expeditions which ensured peace and prosperity for the country. She also fancied herself as the daughter of the state God Amun!

Gold is almost synonymous with Ancient Egypt, and the use of turquoise and carnelian as decorative stones is widely documented. Turquoise is sometimes associated with the Goddess Hathor, who in some texts and inscriptions is named as the Lady or Mistress of Turquoise. Carnelian was a much more common stone, but was used frequently in antiquity as it was closely connected to the sun god Re due to it's fiery red colour.

Earring hooks are made from gold plated brass, and are nickel, lead and cadmium free.
